Celebrating the Roots, Branches, and Future of Black History. February 2026 Marks One Century of Celebrating Black History.

As part of Black History Month 2026, we invite you to engage with the Annual Black History Reflection Tree, an interactive art installation that honors the past, celebrates the present, and envisions a future of justice, equity, and community. This installation represents our collective history and ongoing growth in racial equity.

Why This Matters:
As Simone Weil wrote in The Need for Roots (1949), “Roots are vital for growth and progress.”
The Black History Reflection Tree invites us to honor the roots of Black history—the struggles, triumphs, and wisdom of those who came before us—while nurturing a shared vision for the future. By participating, you are part of a community committed to the ongoing journey of justice, equality, and cultural celebration.

Together, we plant seeds for a brighter, more inclusive future. Thank you for reflecting, sharing, and growing with us.
