Fraternity & Sorority Update - 10/18/24
Service & Philanthropy Report Attached
Attached you will find the Community Service and Philanthropy Report for May through September 2024.
Congratulations to Theta Gamma, Theta Alpha Lambda, Theta Phi Alpha, Alpha Epsilon Phi and Alpha Sigma Phi for completing the most hours per member and to Tau Kappa Epsilon, Alpha Sigma Phi and Alpha Epsilon Phi for raising the most philanthropic dollars per member during this time period.
Please pay particular attention to the percentage of members who completed volunteer hours during this time period. Well done to Alpha Epsilon Phi for having 92% and Theta Gamma for having 60% of their members volunteer.
Title IX Training for Chapter Leaders
The final federally required Title IX Training for organization leaders will be held on Monday, October 21 at 5 p.m. in the Alumni Conference Room.
12 Days of Halloween
There are lots of ideas for fun brotherhood and sisterhood during the 12 Days of Halloween including the following coming up within the next week:
- Movie on the Green: IT tonight at 7 p.m.
- Ghost Tours: Spirits of SUNY Plattsburgh on Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22. Cost is $4. Buy your tickets on Cardinal Link.
- Zombie Tag sponsored by Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity on Wednesday, October 23
- Night of Frights! Haunted House sponsored by Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity on Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25 from 6 - 9 p.m. Cost is $5 for students. Tickets available on Cardinal Link.

Service Opportunities
There are still opportunities to volunteer at SUNY Plattsburgh Admissions Open House, the ARC Foundation Fun Run and Bumpkins Kids Day this weekend.
Other events for next week that still need volunteers include the following:
- Trick or Trot Fun Run on Monday, October 21
- Night of Frights Haunted House Decorating on Tuesday, October 22 and Wednesday, October 24 and Haunted House Volunteers on Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25
- City of Plattsburgh Downtown Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 26
- Haunted Trail Night for North Country Honor Flight on Saturday, October 26
- Campus Thrift Stop on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Pillars of Excellence Recognition
Nominate a fraternity/sorority organization or member for a Pillar of Excellence Recognition. There are four areas that you can nominate someone in: Friendship, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. We will announce nominees on Fraternity & Sorority Life and Center for Student Involvement social media and recap weekly winners in each Fraternity & Sorority Update. To nominate a group or individual, simply send an email to FSlife@plattsburgh.edu explaining why you are nominating the group/individual, which pillar of excellence you are nominating them for (e.g. friendship, scholarship, etc.) and attach a photo if you have one.
