 Events   Weekly Updates

Fraternity & Sorority Update - 9/27/24

September Fraternal Excellence Initiative Report due 10/1 by midnight - REQUIRED of ALL Active Members

Fraternal Excellence Initiative Reports for September are due by midnight on Sunday, October 1st.  All fraternity and sorority members should complete this report in order for your organization to remain in good standing.  New members DO NOT need to fill this out.

THE LINK CAN BE FOUND HERE.

Reminders about filling out the FEI report: 1) Please use your own personal computer/phone or use a campus computer that you have logged into with your username and password to complete this form. Groups that have passed a laptop around to multiple members have resulted in reports not being recorded by Google. 2)  The FEI form gives you the option of sending a copy of your responses to you. Please choose this option. If there is a problem with the submission of your report, the only way we can accept your submission after the deadline is if you provide a copy of it to us. 3) Additionally, you MUST use your SUNY Plattsburgh email to access the form.  Questions? Contact Gabriela Spadavecchis at gspad001@plattsburgh.edu.

F/S Leadership Development Series: Language Matters

It will be offered again on Wednesday, October 2 at noon in the ACC Alumni Conference Room. Campus Dining Services Feedback Sessions

Chartwells  is holding Town Hall Group Meetings next week. These sessions are an opportunity for the Chartwells team to hear directly from students regarding their dining experiences. This feedback will be incorporated into the plan to resolve current issues with dining at SUNY Plattsburgh. The more student feedback they have the stronger their corrective action plans can be.  You can sign up by clicking this link and selecting a time slot that works for you. Sessions take place on Wednesday, 10/2 between 9-5 and again on Thursday, 10/3 between 9-1.

Reporting Service Hours Reminder!!!

Despite multiple reminders, some fraternity and sorority members are still reporting their service hours under organizations other than "Project HELP" as directed. If your hours are submitted incorrectly, they will be rejected and you will need to resubmit them correctly. Instructions for submitting service hours can be found HERE.

ALL HOURS between the end of the Spring 2024 semester and September 30th must be reported by 9/30 or your hours will not be calculated in your organization's averages for the month.

Pillars of Excellence Recognition

Nominate a fraternity/sorority organization or member for a Pillar of Excellence Recognition. There are four areas that you can nominate someone in: Friendship, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. We will announce nominees on Fraternity & Sorority Life and Center for Student Involvement social media and recap weekly winners in each Fraternity & Sorority Update. To nominate a group or individual, simply send an email to FSlife@plattsburgh.edu explaining why you are nominating the group/individual, which pillar of excellence you are nominating them for (e.g. friendship, scholarship, etc.) and attach a photo if you have one.

Congratulations to those recognized the past two weeks:

Scholarship: Zeta Beta Tau
Service/Philanthropy: Tau Kappa Epsilon

Have a wonderful Homecoming/Family weekend!

Interfraternally,
Allison
