The Climate Task Force is partnering with JCEO and a local compost company to sign residents up for composting services, conduct a food drive, and divert food waste from the landfill in a fun way by smashing pumpkins!
When: Nov 7th 11am-2pm
Where: Plattsburgh farmers market downtown (green street)
Volunteer Shifts:
9AM-11AM help set up stations and pumpkin smash event.
11AM-1PM Wash/peel pumpkins, weigh pumpkins, shovel pumpkin guts, help direct attendees, kids activities
1PM-3PM Finish running stations during last hour of event, help with clean up (garbage around event, etc.).
They will need student volunteers to help run kids activities (like face painting), prepare pumpkins by removing paint/glitter, help the smashing stations, direct participants, collect food donations, clean up, etc.
