The Ted K. Center provides educational, social and recreational services to youth and families residing in the Plattsburgh Housing Authority developments. Daily activities are focused on the core areas of creativity, physical fitness, homework completion, computer learning, nutrition education and general recreation. Volunteers should expect to engage in arts and crafts, games, sports and more with the children.

Opportunities will be available to a core group of students to volunteer weekly during the early childhood program between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. and the after school program between 2:30 - 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. You do not need to be available during those entire time frames nor do you need to be available every day.

You must be committed to volunteering at least once per week at Ted K with the intention of developing relationships with the children in the programs. Volunteers must be dependable, have good moral character and agree to be positive role models to the children. All volunteers will go through a brief training and orientation program and may be invited to reflection conversations over the course of the semester.
