24 Hour Play Festival

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (March 26, 2025) - The SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Theatre will present The 24 Hour Play Festival on April 12 at 7 p.m. in the Hartman Theatre, John Myers Building.

Coordinated by Festival Artistic Director Dr. Shawna Mefferd Kelty and managed by Festival Production Manager Margaret Swick, The 24 Hour Play Festival challenges the artists involved to create a performance within 24 hours and share it in the Hartman Theatre. All plays in this performance will be written, rehearsed, and performed by students within the 24 hour time frame. “The 24-hour plays are 70% artistry and collaboration, 20% theatrical mayhem, and 10% sheer adrenaline,” Dr. Kelty stated, “ which makes for an exciting creative process and a very entertaining and dynamic evening of theatre. We hope you can join us to celebrate these very very new plays, the performances, and these daring young theatre artists.”

Tickets for The 24 Hour Play Festival are $5 for General Admission, and $3 for SA Members. These can be purchased online at https://campusgroups.plattsburgh.edu/themus/events/ or on the evening of the performance in the Myers Box Office located within the Myers Lobby Gallery.
