Beneath the surface: Assessing the spatio-temporal distribution of microplastics in Lake Champlain and its tributaries

Microplastics are between 1mm and 5mm in size and can originate from pre-production pellets or from degraded garbage in the environment. They take many shapes including fibers, fragments, foams, films, beads, and pellets. The distribution of Microplastics both spatially and overtime, and their means of entry into Lake Champlain were analyzed through river, lake, wastewater, and fish sampling.

Friday May 8, 2:00pm.
