Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most important and widely celebrated holidays in Indian culture. This vibrant five-day festival symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. During Diwali, people illuminate their homes and streets with small clay lamps called diyas, colorful string lights, and candles, creating a magical atmosphere. Families gather to exchange gifts, share festive meals, and light fireworks. The celebration also includes prayers, traditional sweets, and the creation of intricate rangoli designs - colorful patterns made on floors using materials like colored rice or flower petals. While rooted in Hindu tradition, Diwali is celebrated by people of various faiths across India and around the world, making it a joyous occasion that brings communities together in a spirit of warmth and renewal.
