Our second Senior Recital for the weekend brings the house down with one of our brightest students, Ngozi Permaul. For this afternoon concert, he is sure to entertain with a variety of music covering the breadth of work he’s studied in his time at SUNY Plattsburgh. This is a must-see concert.

Auditions will consist of song, cold readings from scenes, and dance/movement. Auditioners should prepare part of a song to demonstrate range. Bring copies of the music (in the correct key) for the accompanist or a recording that you can sing along with via your phone. Auditioners will learn a few simple dance steps taught by our choreographer. Join director Daniel Gordon as he brings the SUNY Plattsburgh Symphonic Band to the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium for a spring 2026 concert. Comprised of both students and community members, the band meets weekly to practice this semesterly event. The Symphonic Band concert is a staple of the SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Music’s offerings and is free to the public to come and enjoy.

Directed by Michael Lewandowski, the SUNY Plattsburgh Jazz Ensemble returns to the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium this spring. Touting a selection of jazz favorites, the ensemble brings students together with community members to create a one of a kind performance that needs to be seen. Whether you’re a fan or just discovering jazz, there’s no better concert to attend to appreciate the genre.

Gathered from around the campus, the SUNY Plattsburgh Guitar Ensemble brings an energy to the Krinovitz stage unlike any other. Under the mentorship of director Michael Fratino, the group often performs a wide variety of music, from classical guitar, modern hits, and even some fun pieces from movies and video games. There’s something for everyone to love at this concert.

Our season closes with an incredible performance by the SUNY Plattsburgh Concert Choir, directed by Timothy Morningstar and accompanied by music alumnus, Ryan Mahony. Our choir students span beyond music majors, and gather to perform due to their love of music and singing. This shows best at this culmination of this semester’s work in a concert worthy of closing out a great semester of performances.
